Stay on track of the monthly cosmic shifts with my free 2020 Moon Calendar.

We're a quarter way through the year, but hey, better late than never! Here's a beautiful Moon Calender I created together with a local astrologer Margarita Celeste, designed by @keziahsearle.designs, photographed by @tegansmithphotography.

I love having monthly moon rituals for the New and Full Moon, but I didn't come across a Moon Calendar that I liked, that fit my style, design and goals. I'm pretty A-type, and since my Leo sun has transited to Virgo, I've become even more in love with planning and organising.

I wanted a calendar that would give me a high-level look at each month, to be able to see which cosmic energy would be activated, and when. I also wanted to note important dates like birthdays, events and so on.

Right now, my Moon Calendar is just marking off each day that South Africa spends in lockdown, but that's okay, I like seeing that the days are actually moving by, even though I feel like I'm stuck in limbo.

I wanted something that would be really specific, especially in showing me what energy would be at play during a time period. For me, it was really important to see the energy of the associated zodiac sign at play, less so the waxing and waning phases of the moon.

Each lunar and solar shift (New Moon, Full Moon and Sun ingress) is listed with the cosmic body's respective glyph. Typically, there's a New Moon, Full Moon and Sun transition once per month, but there are exceptions.

This way, you can see that the Full Moon on May 7th takes place in the sign of Scorpio, that on June 20th, the Sun will move into the sign of Cancer, and so on. (Get ready for that May 7th Full Moon in Scorp, right?) Today’s new moon in Taurus comes at an interesting time. New moons are great for setting intentions, bringing energy in and planting the seeds of manifestation. At this new moon, Uranus (the wild card of the zodiac) is close by, so be prepared for some surprises.

The sign of the bull is famed for stability, determination and hard-working nature. The energy of the Taurus New Moon is good for laying down foundations for security and pleasure.
If you could pull this energy in, where would you want to apply more stability in your life? Where would you want more comfort? Where do you need more ‘staying-power’, more grit to get things done?

Taurus governs the second house - the house of values and money.

You could use this energy of Taurus to create a manifestation practice for finances, resources or material things.

If you equate stability with finances, now is 100% the time to do a money manifestation ritual.

Plant the seeds for more abundance. Ask for more of what makes you feel secure, more of what brings you pleasure, more of what makes you creative.

Personally, I need more of this vibe in my life. As a Leo sun Aries moon workaholic, I have no idea what the word chill means. One thing I’m trying to manifest is more of an appreciation for rest, relaxing and down-time. I’m pretty happy to let a giant cosmic bull guide me in this area.

If you’re looking for a new moon ritual, there are plenty posted all over Instagram in detail, but all you really need is to take some time out, set an intention and honour the energy around you.

Meditation will help you get into the zone, writing down your intentions helps to bring the ethereal into the physical (very Taurus), and repeating an affirmation or mantra will concretise your desires and align your vibrations.

In six months time, when the full moon in Taurus rolls around, this energy will come to fruition. Make a note of what you’re manifesting today so that you can be like “Daaaamn,” in a few months time.

Here’s another astrology post, this time, about the Super Full Moon in Libra that's popping around today. It’ll peak around the 7th or 8th of April, depending on your time zone, but it’s energy will have been felt a few days before as well as a few days after.

This limitation is a Super Pink Moon:
🌕 It’s a Super Full Moon as it is extra close to the earth and will look extra big and bright, and
🌸 It’s a Pink Full Moon, named so for the flower blossoms in the springtime in the northern hemisphere.

The Libra Full Moon during Aries season likes to question the balance between the self in relation to another. Libra is concerned with relationships, partnerships and the balance thereof. It juxtaposes with Aries’ energy, which is orientated to the self, me, I, and my and mine. When Libra activates with Aries, it asks this energy to look outward, to consider others rather closely and to find a balance between the self and another.

This balancing of self in relation to another could be a very immediate thing. We are currently in lockdown, some of us are with family, some of us are alone. How are our relationships with those in our immediate vicinity, and how are our relationships with those we can connect to virtually. If we’re lucky to have these connections in our lives, be them in our houses or in our hearts, perhaps the light of the Libra Supermoon is illuminating just how lucky we are to have loved ones.

This balancing of self in relation to another could be on a collective scale. We, as individuals are all going through our own, individual processes. Whatever fear, anxieties, tensions and more we may have, are coming to light (sparked by Pluto’s activation in the cosmos), and this can feel very paralyzing and frightening. Even though we may feel very individually affected, everyone is connected. There is support available. Reach out to others and be a support to someone else.

Finally, this balancing can be internal. Perhaps there is energy off balance within the being. Too much panic, too much fear. Masculine and feminine energies could be out of sync. If you feel like this resonates, use the energy of the Libra full moon to show where you need balance.

I was chatting with one of my mates today about the Jupiter and Pluto conjunction. She traced her life events back to the last conjunction of the same pair, back to 2008, and found the themes that she was dealing with both then and now strikingly ironic.⁠
⁠
Throughout the year of 2020, these two power planets will conjunct not once, not twice, but three times. The first conjunction we've just seen on 4th of April, with both planets moving direct. It happens again on the 30th of June when both planets are in their respective retrogrades, and finally on the 12th of November, they conjunct one final time after stationing direct.⁠
⁠
Where Jupiter brings blessings, expansion, growth and abundance, Pluto reaches deep below the surface and dives into the underworld, bringing the hidden and repressed to the light. Death, rebirth, transformation and renewal are big themes with Pluto. Where Jupiter signals our dedication to seeking truth and finding meaning, Pluto is how we deal with power and control.⁠

I read an article that likens this Jupiter and Pluto conjunction to a meeting between heaven and hell. Jeeeeez. Perhaps we're in the middle, collectively in limbo, just waiting to see which way we'll go.⁠

Also, all of these shifts are taking place in the sign of Capricorn, so, Saturn who rules the sign is like, watching, observing and making notes for his final smackdown of 2020: a conjunction with Jupiter (where he'll conflict Jupiter's expansiveness with tight restriction and rule-abiding) all during the merry happy holidays, just before we celebrate Christmas.⁠

While it's tough to estimate on a global level what the next few months will bring, consider noting the conjunction dates down, and recognising themes and emotions that may arise during these times. This eight-month period will signal a period of growth and expansion (Jupiter), transformation and processing (Pluto).⁠

Whether you're tracking these cosmic shifts or not, 2020 will be a transformative year regardless, so hold onto your hat and see what your hair is looking like after the next eight months are up.⁠

What is needed for dramatic change is an accumulation of acts, adding, adding to, adding more, continuing. We know that it does not take everyone on Earth to bring justice and peace, but only a small, determined group who will not give up during the first, second, or hundredth gale.

One of the most calming and powerful actions you can do to intervene in a stormy world is to stand up and show your soul. Soul on deck shines like gold in dark times. The light of the soul throws sparks, can send up flares, builds signal fires, causes proper matters to catch fire.

To display the lantern of soul in shadowy times like these - to be fierce and to show mercy toward others; both are acts of immense bravery and greatest necessity.
Struggling souls catch light from other souls who are fully lit and willing to show it. If you would help to calm the tumult, this is one of the strongest things you can do.

There will always be times when you feel discouraged. I too have felt despair many times in my life, but I do not keep a chair for it. I will not entertain it. It is not allowed to eat from my plate.

The reason is this: In my uttermost bones I know something, as do you. It is that there can be no despair when you remember why you came to Earth, who you serve, and who sent you here.

The good words we say and the good deeds we do are not ours. They are the words and deeds of the One who brought us here.
